Payments and Billing
Payments for Therapy and Medically Required Testing
Payment may be made by cash, check, or debit/credit card, including Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. When non-insurance third parties arrange to pay (in part or in full) for services, special
rates may apply, but such an arrangement must be made in advance with
the agency first, and then with Dr. Roberson. Any problems regarding payments
should be discussed with Dr. Roberson as soon as the problem arises.
A copay is required at the time of service for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Great West, or Humana insurance. Insurance-based
discounts are accepted only for those companies. Full payment is generally required at the time of service when Dr. Roberson is out of network, but insurance
forms
can still be completed and submitted by the office staff, except for psycho-educational evaluations. In such cases, any reimbursement from the insurance company is sent directly to the patient or family. This should help
the patient or family in obtaining possible reimbursement from their insurance or
managed care company. Remember insurance reimbursement often takes 30
to 60 days, and sometimes longer.
Payments for Psycho-Educational Evaluations and Reports
Psycho-Educational
testing is heavily educational by nature, and is not covered by
insurance. $170 is charged for the first session, including file origination, and evaluation planning. The
remaining charge is currently $1300, to be paid in two equal
payments, half before testing begins, and half prior to the last
session, when results are presented. Payment may be made by cash, check, or debit/credit card, including Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. No insurance information is collected for psycho-educational testing, and no insurance billing is conducted.
